About
Welcome! My name is Autumn Baker, the Birth Plan Doula! I am a Certified Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, Certified Lactation Educator, and mom of three!
When I was pregnant with my first, I really just wanted to make the best choices that would keep me and my baby safe. It wasn't until other moms shared their experiences with me that I realized it was possible to prioritize both safety and my satisfaction during my birth experience. Through a lot of time, research, and certifications, I learned what my options were, how to communicate and advocate for them, and how to prioritize my safety alongside my goals for a peaceful, enjoyable birth. I was able to go on and have not just one but three empowered, safe, and beautiful births. From that moment, it became my passion to help other moms to feel secure and to love their births as much as I did. I want to share everything I learned with you in the quickest and easiest way possible so that you can have a beautiful birth, too! In a simple but powerful one-hour session, we will work through: -your options for care, interventions, and atmosphere -how to reduce the risk of cesarean or assisted birth -what your preferences are and how to communicate them -steps to complete before your baby's birthday for the best birth experience. |
My Philosophy
I believe that our bodies were made by design and are capable of doing what they were created to do. I believe intervention should only be utilized when necessary or desired. I believe those working in the perinatal field have a responsibility to fully inform the families in their care about their options, including the benefits and risks related to those options, so that families can make the best choices for themselves. I believe every family has the right to be heard, supported, and respected in those choices and I consider it an honor and privilege to help advocate for those rights when I'm asked and able.
Personally, I have had three unmedicated births in hospital settings, but I have had the privilege of supporting mothers whose birth experiences varied from my own, including medicated and Cesarean births, both in-person and virtually. I seek to create excellent products by continuing my education to keep a holistic view of these seasons and abiding by evidence-based practices. It is my absolute joy to offer high-quality and truly helpful products to families during these precious seasons. |
